Seeds of Jubilation

Just finished this one three days ago. I did if for a charity event called "Mosaic for Mental Health" that is held yearly in Halifax by CMHA to help those who have suffered from mental illness.

I grabbed an old sketch that I felt was appropriate that I did a few years ago. Again, this was another chance for me to practive painting an environment again. Regrettably the size of the canvas for the event was to be square which I had forgotten about untill I was almost finished. So running out of time I squared the canvas for the final piece and completed the pillars on either side.

Even though the archways appear mirrored I did paint around 50% of the other side instead of merely copying it and flipping it. Oh and was I ever tempted to do so. It was a great exercise in lighting for me and although not perfect I am pretty happy with it, which is sometimes hard to come by for me;)
